BMC Helix Project Assurance Service

This service supports customers in managing third party-led projects, ensuring alignment with BMC Helix best practices for governance, design, and go-live readiness for one BMC Helix product. The service includes reviewing key documents, producing assurance reports, and providing an assurance certificate if criteria are met.

What you get:

  • 3rd Party Service Partner governance and review of key project documents and processes
  • Review of implementation alignment to BMC Helix best practices 
  • Review of implementation planning and go-live activities

BMC will perform the following:

  1. Conduct the analysis of up to two (2) versions of a Project Management Plan and produce a Governance Assurance Report.
  2. Participate in a dedicated meeting with Customer and third-party service provider to discuss the Project Management Plan Governance Assurance Report and answer questions about it's content.
  3. Conduct the analysis of up to two (2) versions of the Customer’s requirements and solution design document for one (1) BMC Helix product family and produce a Design Assurance Report.
  4. BMC will review the design document for technical completeness and content relative to the following leading practices aligned to BMC Helix best practices:
    1. Scope in terms of organization, processes, use cases, capabilities, requirements, and their relationships to Foundation, application, configuration data
    2. Required configurations including their design
    3. Integrations including their design
    4. Use of core product capabilities
    5. Anticipated volumes
    6. Required hardware, operating systems, and databases
    7. Required infrastructure configuration (e.g., latency, ports)
  5. Participate in a dedicated meeting with Customer and the third-party service provider to discuss the Design Assurance Report and answer questions regarding its content.
  6. Conduct analysis of one (1) version of the test strategy. (Max 2 Days)
  7. Conduct analysis of one (1) version of the go-live plan including readiness to go live and produce a Go-Live Assurance Report. (Max 2 Days)
  8. BMC Helix will review Customer’s go-live plan for completeness and content relative to the following leading practices:
    1. Deployment preparation
    2. Foundation and application data load plan
    3. Configurations completed
    4. Deployment activities
    5. Detailed runbook containing activities, known issues, planning, change requests, related documentation, load file references
    6. Backup and restore
    7. Acceptance criteria
    8. Roll back criteria
    9. Roll back activities
    10. After go-live activities
  9. Participate in one dedicated meeting with Customer and third-party service provider to discuss the Go-Live Assurance Report and answer questions about its content.
  10. BMC Helix will produce a BMC Assurance Certificate only if BMC is satisfied with the design principles and best practices recommended for the proposed implementation by the third-party service provider.

Deliverables: Using BMC Helix’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this project and will be delivered:

  • Governance Assurance Report
  • Design Assurance Report
  • Go-Live Assurance Report
  • BMC Helix Assurance Certificate (if criteria are met)

Completion Criteria: BMC Helix will have completed these Consulting Services when the in-scope Consulting Services have been completed and the Deliverables have been delivered to the Customer Project Manager or after six months from the project start, whichever occurs first.

For Offerings w/Delivery Milestones (2+ Milestones):

Project Milestones: The following Milestones are established between the Customer and BMC: 

Milestone 1: Delivery of Governance Assurance Report or three months from project start whichever is earliest. 

Milestone 2: Delivery and Presentation of Design Assurance Report or six months from the project start whichever is earliest.

Pre-requisites:

Customer has obtained the appropriate rights and permissions of the third-party service provider to provide the project management plan, design documentation, test strategy documentation and go-live plan to BMC Helix for review.
